How lucky are we to live in The West End of Toronto with so many exciting resources for our children? If like me you will be staying in snowy Toronto for March break you will definitely want to keep those little creative minds busy. Here are my top pics for inspiring March Break workshops for your little loves.

My children have been attending The Kingsway Conservatory of Music in The Kingsway for years and have always had a wonderful experience. The teachers truly care about inspiring your children. They are running the ever popular Triple Threat Arts Discovery Camp this March Break. This combo of music, art and drama are led by Tatiana Olkha, one of the most incredible and inspiring teachers I have ever met. Your children will love her.

Art Works Art School on Jane St in Bloor West Village is a very special place. Both myself and my children have taken a number of classes here in the past few years and it has always been a joyous and creative experience. The instructors are all talented artists who have a passion for sharing their knowledge and skills. There is a wide range of both half and full day March Break programs available where your children can express themselves through drawing, print making, sculpture and much more. A mini art exhibition at the end of the week makes it extra rewarding for your eager little artist.

Swansea School of Dance has a stellar reputation in The West End and for good reason. Offering camps suited to both boys and girls from age 3 and up you will be amazed at the technique your child can pick up in just one week. As well as providing a creative outlet for your child, the movement provides great physical activity for children. Before and after care is an added bonus of signing up here for March Break!

As well as being one of the best spots in The Junction to host a kid’s birthday party Oaks ‘n Acorns also runs some fun and educational camps. This year’s March Break camp allows your child to engineer and explore using upcycling materials, play-dough, pasta and their own gym mats. There will be fort making! This week will focus on getting kids to think creatively, and work as a team!

If like me, you have a little daredevil on your hands then Etobicoke’s Boulderz Climbing Club could be the perfect space for your wild child to let lose, explore new heights and gain extra confidence through a daring physical challenge. Children will be rewarded with a pizza lunch on the Friday after a week of physical fun!

Do you have a little chef at home who is yearning to develop their passion? City Canteen’s March Break Culinary Camp is the perfect activity for kids who love to cook! With a new theme every day, your child will enjoy learning new techniques and recipes in the kitchen. Maybe your little chef will be able to prepare dinners for you after this exciting camp!

We all know that March Break can be rough for parents and children if you don’t plan in advance. Rest assured our West End communities have so many fantastic local businesses who are providing a safe and creative place for your child to enjoy  the week. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Being a working mom means I keep myself in the know regarding all of these great resources!
