There are so many great things about living in Toronto’s West End. Being the ultimate foodie I am so grateful for the number of fantastic restaurants we have to choose from. Here are my top pics for a cozy date night in my favourite neighbourhoods.

With its’s wood fired pizza oven, artisinal cocktails, undeniable charm and character Annette Food Market is my top pic for a cozy date night. The service is always fantastic. The wine selection is an ever changing exciting mix. The artisinal cocktails are truly made with love and skill. The food. My goodness the food. The pizza is the best I have ever had in Toronto. Their tapas style menu is meant for sharing but the food is so delicious you will have a hard time doing so..

Nodo in The Junction is a great choice if you are looking for a trendy date night spot. There is always a great atmosphere. Beautiful interior decor. Great cocktails and the food is just the right mix of italian comfort and trend. Don’t forget to get your taste buds jumping with their wicked negroni as an aperitif.

Azarias has been the go to spot for delicious tapas in The Kingsway for the past couple of years. Sure to be packed every night of the week it is definitely a good idea to make a reservation. The service is always very pleasant. Share a great bottle of wine with your date, Azarias keep a great selection in stock. Be sure to try their daily specials when you visit, they never disappoint. The fresh herb bucket at every table is a nice little touch!

If you are looking for a chill place where you can relax on date night, Gin Mill in Bloor West Village is the ideal spot. This gastro pub has everything you need for a casual evening with that someone special. Craft beer, artisanal scratch cocktails and perfect gastro pub food. This cozy place is run by people who truly care about quality food, drinks and service.

In the heart of Roncesvalles The Commoner delivers the right blend of of hipster chic decor and amazing food. Aside from being an instagram haven (snap that perfect date night pic) this uber trendy establishment delivers exceptional food. Dark leather upholstery, brick walls and brass lighting fixtures set a moody tone. They serve duck fat fries. Need I say more?

Lavinia is one of those wonderful old school establishments that unfortunately are a dying breed in Toronto. The exceptionally well learned chef brings vibrant and delicious Spanish food to Mimico. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. The owner is one of the most friendly and welcoming hosts I have ever met. You need to have the paella, of which there are four kinds!

Cheers and happy date night to you and that very special someone!
